Led by editor and author coach, Kellie Nissen, Build-a-Book provides you with writing skills, guidance, feedback and accountability to keep you moving and get your book done.

EXPLORE

To build the foundation for your book with clarity, structure and early wins, you will:

  • define your genre, audience and purpose

  • create a clear, workable book outline

  • set a realistic writing schedule.

EXAMINE

To develop your writing (with support), you will:

  • build your author voice and craft

  • strengthen your structure, pacing and scenes

  • apply genre expectations with clarity and purpose.

EXECUTE

As you work towards finishing your manuscript, you will:

  • maintain momentum with clear accountability

  • refine your writing with feedback and critique

  • complete your book and step into your role as an author.

About Your Instructor-Mentor

Kellie Nissen is a professional editor and author coach who also has 26 years of experience as a teacher.

She has written, self-edited and published two books in the genres of memoir and narrative non-fiction, and has helped over 100 authors bring their stories to life.
